Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Spark Digital SpA (“we,” “our,” “us”), the company that operates Ncntrs, collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our mobile app or website (the “Service”). Spark Digital SpA is the data controller responsible for that information. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Data we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your email address, chosen name, and an avatar URL when provided by your sign-in provider.
- Authentication identifiers: a stable identifier from Apple or Google if you sign in with those services, a hashed password if you sign up with email, and Sanctum API tokens issued to your device.
- Usage data: basic technical information sent by your device or browser (IP address, platform, locale, crash reports) used to keep the Service running and secure.
- Website analytics: on ncntrs.com, if you accept, Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) receives pages viewed and a cookie identifier. Analytics and marketing cookies stay off until you accept. See our Cookie Policy.
- Device and advertising identifiers: on the mobile app, advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS when you allow tracking; Google Advertising ID on Android) and similar device signals used to measure ads and app installs. See section 4.
- Content you provide: profile details, event listings, messages, and other content you choose to post.
- Location: your approximate location while you use the app, to personalize nearby encounters. We do not collect location in the background.
- Photos: profile photos and photos you add to encounters.
- Identity verification: if you choose to verify, we collect data from your government ID or passport — a photo of the document and, when you scan the chip, name, date of birth, and nationality from NFC. This is used only to confirm you are a real adult. Document images are stored securely for verification audit and are never shown on your public profile.
2. How we use your data
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate your sessions.
- To match you with social events and other users.
- To verify your identity when you request a verified badge.
- To keep the Service secure (fraud, abuse, rate-limiting).
- To respond to your support requests.
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising (for example, whether an ad led to an install, registration, or subscription).
- To understand how the website is used, when you accept analytics cookies.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Sign in with Apple and Google
If you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers send us limited profile information (such as name, email, and a stable user identifier). If you use Apple’s private email relay, we receive a relay address rather than your real email. Apple and Google also send us notifications (for example, if you revoke access) so we can keep your account in sync; when they tell us you deleted your account, we delete our record.
Google also provides the Android Advertising ID, Google Play services (including in-app purchases and push notifications), and Sign in with Google. Those uses are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
4. Advertising measurement (Meta and Google)
The Ncntrs mobile app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK so we can measure advertising campaigns on Meta technologies (Facebook, Instagram, and related ads). The SDK may collect advertising identifiers, app events (such as app install, app open, registration, joining an encounter, and starting or upgrading a paid membership), and coarse device information. That data is sent to Meta to attribute installs and in-app actions to ads, understand campaign performance, and (where allowed) limit how often you see our ads. Meta’s processing is described in Meta’s Privacy Policy.
On Android, Google may process the Advertising ID and related Play / ads signals for the same measurement purposes, under Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Advertising policies. We do not show third-party ads inside the Ncntrs app; this is for measuring ads that promote Ncntrs.
You can limit this tracking:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and decline permission for Ncntrs. You can also reset or limit the Advertising Identifier in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads (wording varies by device) to delete or reset your Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization.
- Meta: facebook.com/settings?tab=ads.
- Google: adssettings.google.com.
If you decline tracking, you can still use Ncntrs. We may still count aggregate installs using privacy-preserving methods (such as Apple’s SKAdNetwork) that do not identify you personally.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (cloud hosting, Google Analytics when you consent, crash reporting) under contracts that require confidentiality.
- Advertising partners: Meta and Google, as described in section 4, for ads measurement and attribution. They act as independent controllers of the data they receive through their SDKs.
- Other users, limited to what you choose to make visible (e.g. your name and avatar on your profile).
- Authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Ncntrs or others.
6. Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or from the web at ncntrs.com/account-deletion. When you delete your account, your record is soft-deleted and permanently removed from our active systems after 30 days. During the grace period you can restore your account by signing in again. Limited logs may persist in backups for up to 90 days after permanent deletion and are then overwritten or purged. Where the law requires us to keep certain records (for example, tax or security logs), we retain only the minimum necessary for the required period. Identity-verification images are deleted with the rest of the account.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (Settings → Delete account), on the web at ncntrs.com/account-deletion, or by emailing us at privacy@ncntrs.com.
8. Security
We use standard security measures — HTTPS in transit, hashed passwords, Sanctum tokens scoped to each device, and production data isolated from development environments. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
10. International transfers
We host the Service on cloud infrastructure that may process data in countries different from yours. We rely on appropriate legal mechanisms (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect personal data during these transfers.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when the Policy was last revised.
